One country renouned for precious stones is Myanmar. During a trip some years ago we visited a museum there and marvelled at the sapphires, rubies, pearls and jade. As beautiful as they were, it pales into insignificance compared to the glory of heaven, which is described as ‘a very precious jewel’.
Did you know that the Bible also describes believers as living stones which are being built into a spiritual house. The most important stone in the building is Jesus Christ, who is the cornerstone. Only when our lives are aligned to his, do we find purpose and fulfilment. 1 Peter 2:4-5 say, “As you come to him, the living Stone – rejected by men
but chosen by God and precious to him – you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house ..”
But let me ask – what kind of stone are you? A rough stone, still to be polished? Or are you allowing Jesus to adjust your life so that you are beginning to shine?
